Kaleb Holmes
by Sydney Basness

Senior year, it's what you look forward to your whole life. But if you were to ask senior Kaleb Holmes, he would tell you he is going to miss high school. He told me, “I don’t want to graduate yet, because life is too hard.”

When I asked Kaleb about his plans after college he replied "I'm undecided. I want to major in history or some type of engineering, but not sure where I would like to attend." Kaleb has looked into Winona State University, Bethel, and Michigan State University as well.

Kaleb participates in football, wrestling, and baseball. I asked him about his favorite moment of his senior year so far and he said, "The Fairbault BA game, because it was one of the most exciting games of our season." Kaleb’s goals for this wrestling season are to make a state run. When I asked Kaleb as a senior what he hoped to offer the team he said, “To offer another body, and show the younger kids what the sport is all about.”

Kaleb also told me that Jacob Decker would have to be his favorite underclassman. "He's my favorite because he is randomly funny," Holmes says. He also told me going to a small school was "fun and different."

Then I asked him about his favorite food and he told me, "Sushi, because it’s delicious and it relates to my heritage.” School comes easy for him by when I asked his what his favorite class/teacher was he had to stop and think. After debating he said "Econ, with Ms. Southworth." I asked him why and he responded, "Because I sit in the back and she is a really funny person."

Then of course I asked Kaleb about being the "new kid." He said, "It is basically just like being a kid who has went here their whole life. I was very welcomed when I came to school at BPHS."
